Access to data during cancer research has the potential to make treatment outcomes more effective, according to Denise Hynes, MPH, PhD, RN. Watch Dr. Hynes speak about the assets and methods that are available within the VA and how to apply them to comparative effectiveness research.

"Comparative effectiveness research is not efficacy research; it contains a lot of types of research," Hynes said. "It helps to inform health care decisions, but it is not looking at efficacy."
