Late-Onset MS is Often More Severe Than Earlier-Onset MS

Key clinical point: Late-onset MS is more severe than earlier-onset disease, but whether that is related to aging or different pathophysiology is unknown.
Major finding: Overall disability accrual rate was twice that of early-onset MS, a decline of 0.647 points per year on the Expanded Disability Status Scale, versus 0.357 points (P less than .001).
