United We Serve

Carrying forward the momentum of President Obama’s service initiative of January 2013, United We Serve, accessible online at http://www.serve.gov, aims to bring together existing organizations looking for volunteers with volunteers looking to create new organizations of their own.

Extensive toolkits are available for users to get started on a service project. Toolkit topics include community renewal, disaster preparedness, education, energy and environment, health, hunger, veterans and military families, and a toolkit to create a unique or local project.

After creating a project, users can post it using the AllforGood.org linked hub. If visitors to the website are interested in recruiting volunteers, an outreach option is also available.

Visitors can explore ongoing initiatives, such as Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and the End Hunger portal, to gain a deeper understanding of how impactful volunteering can be in local communities, nationally and worldwide.

To stay connected to a community of giving, users may sign up for e-mail updates on opportunities to serve and volunteer or to receive notifications for the many and diverse National Service blog updates.
