Internet-Delivered Intervention Eases Depression Symptoms
Key clinical point: A 5-week Internet-delivered, therapist-guided intervention is effective for reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression among college students; 75% of participants were “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the intervention.
Major finding: The Internet-based intervention was associated with a 41% reduction in symptoms of anxiety and 36% reduction in symptoms of depression when presented as part of routine care from the university counseling service.
Study details: The data come from a prospective, phase IV study of 1,326 college students treated in a university counseling service.
