Less CPAP time linked to exacerbation in COPD/OSA overlap syndrome
Key clinical point: Among patients with COPD and OSA, lung function and CPAP use are independent predictors of COPD exacerbations and all‐cause mortality.
Major finding: The average time of CPAP use was significantly higher in patients with no recorded exacerbation: 285.4 min/night vs. 238.2 min/night.
Study details: A retrospective cohort study that included 92 patients with overlap syndrome who had a COPD exacerbation and 92 patients with overlap who did not.
