Prostate Cancer Patients Desire Nutritional Services

Key clinical point: There is an unmet need of nutritional services for men with prostate cancer. “Nutrition services should consider flexibility in delivery format, support at multiple times throughout survivorship, as well as embedding nutrition as part of overall supportive care,” noted the investigators.

Major finding: Prostate cancer patients expressed a desire for nutritional services, and over 60% of health care professionals reported the focus should be on weight management and cancer progression.

Study details: A needs assessment of nutrition services in Canada was conducted via a survey completed by 56 health care professionals. Educational session evaluations were completed by 135 prostate cancer patients.
