The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) has canceled its annual conference, scheduled for mid-April, joining a growing list of events shuttered by coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

In a March 13 announcement, SHM said it would be impossible for the society to host the Hospital Medicine 2020 conference amid the escalating health concerns regarding the global COVID-19 outbreak.
