Dr. Andrew Alexis discusses nonablative lasers for the treatment of acne scarring in darker skin types. He outlines the advantages of using nonablative lasers in patients with skin of color and the devices with the greatest safety and efficacy. He also provides recommendations on laser settings and patient expectations. The risk for postinflammatory hyperpigmentation also is discussed and steps to minimize this risk.
