Researchers are now armed with more evidence that halting inflammation in the early stages of the disease can protect patients decades down the road. Dr. Stephen L. Hauser, chair of the department of neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, talks about the current state of MS research, the challenges, and the opportunities for progress.
