Inadvertent IV Administration of IM Epinephrine

A 2-year-old girl is brought to the ED for treatment of anaphylaxis after eating a cashew. She is given IV epinephrine in a dose and concentration that should be given by the IM route. How does this case unfold, and what should emergency physicians know about epinephrine administration?
