Video urodynamics for the evaluation of complex urinary symptoms

Author and Disclosure Information

Brought to you by the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. Video urodynamics refers to the use of fluoroscopy in conjunction with multichannel cystometrics utilizing radiopaque contrast-based fluid. It offers the clinician simultaneous functional and anatomic views of the urinary tract. Video urodynamics has several important advantages over conventional urodynamics for the evaluation of patients with complicated lower urinary tract symptoms. In this video, the authors describe the indications for use of video urodynamics, provide an overview of the procedure technique, and show examples of normal and abnormal findings.
