Complete colpectomy & colpocleisis: Model for simulation

Author and Disclosure Information

Brought to you by the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. The authors provide a simple model for complete colpectomy and colpocleisis using a simulation dummy and easily found, inexpensive items. They demonstrate a multi-step approach to the obliteration process, appropriate for elderly patients with medical comorbidities, or for patients with previous failed prolapse surgery or pessary trials, who are not sexually active. The complete colpectomy and colpocleisis is appropriate for patients who have had a previous hysterectomy.
