Author and Disclosure Information

What is considered “healthy weight gain” in pregnancy? In this month’s audio, Dr. Campos-Outcalt describes the US Preventive Services Task Force’s first-ever recommendation on this topic. Dr. Campos-Outcalt summarizes the optimal weight gain by BMI range at time of pregnancy (underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obese) and details the benefits to mother and baby of offering interventions that include behavioral health counseling and supervised exercise.
