Retroperitoneal anatomy and parametrial dissection in robotic uterine artery-sparing radical trachelectomy

In this video, the authors perform a robotic nerve-sparing and uterine artery-sparing radical trachelectomy in a patient with stage 1B1 adenosquamous carcinoma of the cervix while reviewing pertinent retroperitoneal and parametrial anatomy. Although long-term oncologic and obstetric outcomes between different approaches of radical trachelectomy are unknown, minimally invasive trachelectomy has benefits of decreased blood loss and less recovery time. The authors discourage readers from performing this procedure in their practice unless they are fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologists.
